Saima Classic is the genuine original design hardwood floor, which has already been manufactured for decades. The design language of Saima Classic has been inspired by the works of Aino and Alvar Aalto, for example their way of using birch veneer in furniture. A hardwood floor called Kotka, on the market in the 40's and 50's, used by the Aalto couple in a factory workers' residential area in Sunila, Finland, was the predecessor of Saima. Karelia-Upofloor Oy manufactures the Saima Design hardwood floor with respect to tradition. Saima has retained its original visual appearance. In Saima the so called fineline effect is created by the use of birch veneer slats. Due to its special vertical veneer slat structure, Saima reflects the light and colours of a space in a unique way.
Saima Classic hardwood floor is available both as 300L/R, 600L and 1200L mm boards as wall as a full lenght board with a mechanical locking system.
