Award-winning Saima Design -hardwood floors have been selected into the Finnish Pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo
The floor of the exhibition level in the appraised Kirnu pavilion has been covered with Saima Classic and Raita -hardwood floor. The hardwood floor which represents unique design, materials and high quality is believed to have demand in the Asian markets.

2009 red dot design award winner Raita was used together with the classic birch coloured Saima as the flooring in the exhibition level, which is alltogher some 1000 square meters in area. The hardwood floor in the exhibition level has an algorithmic laying pattern and the colour changes seamlessly in the floor accoring to moods of the exhibition area.
The laying pattern of the Kirnu floor has been designed by Design Studio Muotohiomo and the floors in the VIP conference level have been designed by Architect company JKMM Oy.
Saima Raita hardwood floor can also be found in the conference rooms of the VIP level, as well as Saima Lumi floors, which represent scandinavian lightness in colour..

Karelia-Upofloor was able to participate in the Finnish Pavilion Kirnu through the design of the Saima floors. Saima represents Finnish innovation. As a flooring it is made of unique birch veneer hardwood floor, which offers numerous colour and laying pattern options. In Saima the recflection of light also gives a 3-dimensional structure to the floor.
